Harrison Poolside Park (Rhoads Memorial Pool) was dedicated in 1976 after years of
determined community involvement, fund raising and several key donations. Joe Rhoads and
his late wife May wanted to put their life savings into something that would benefit the
entire community; and they did just that.
The Harrison Poolside Park has provided 30 years of summer swimming and recreation to the
residents and visitors of Harrison County. Rhoads Memorial (outdoor) Pool is also home to
the 140-member Harrison County "Hammerheads" swim team. The pool also features one of
the few diving boards in Harrison County.
Come join us for some summer fun and sun at the Harrison Poolside Park. (Sunscreen with
SPF 50 recommended, because it is the hottest place in town.)
